Laminated glass

CW TRADE LTD has been successfully supplying a wide variety of laminated glass produced to the customer's design requirements for over 10 years.

Lamination

This is a process in which two or more glass sheets are bonded to each other by vacuum, embedding Evasafe foil between them. As a result of this process, if the glass breaks, the individual pieces remain attached to each other, making the laminated glass firm and secure.

Today laminated glass is produced by bonding two or more layers of generally float glass with a plastic inner layer, typically of polyvinyl butaryl (EVA). The EVA is placed between the glass panes, which are then heated from 100 to 130 ° C and rollers used to remove residual air and create an initial bond. Typically laminated glass is 3 mm glass / 0.38 mm interlayer / 3 mm glass. This gives end product laminated glass with 6.38mm thickness.

The internal layer retains the two layers of glass bonded even after breaking and its high strength prevents the glass from breaking into large sharp pieces. More layers and thicker glass increases strength further. Armored glass panels made of thick glass and several intermediate layers can reach up to 50 mm thickness.

Another feature of EVA is that it improves the sound-proofing properties of the glass by the dampening effect and it also stops 99% of ultraviolet light.Laminated glass is usually used in places with increased risk of injuries from broken glass.
