Mechanical and thermal processing of glass

CW TRADE LTD has been successfully supplying a wide variety of mechanically and heat-treated glass produced to the customer's design requirements for over 10 years.

Mechanical processing – Cutting

Cutting glass is the beginning of glass processing. It is a specific activity that requires removing parts of the glass in a certain sequence and depends on the shape you want to achieve. In the fully automated cutting process high precision and accuracy is achieved when cropping the parts, for both regular and irregular shapes of glass. Cutting is definitely followed by edging, or smoothing, to remove sharp edges. After that comes faceting, matting, or any other mechanical process required by the clients’ specification.

Mechanical processing - Edging

Edging is a treatment that achieves a variety of forms at the side surfaces of the glass. The edges, or cants, produced by this process can be matted as well as further smoothed or polished. If you are looking for a specific attractive effect we can achieve shapes that exactly match your idea.

Mechanical processing - Aperture (Opening)

When installing glass details or mounting handles, there is a need to make holes in the glass. We drill the glass with the most advanced technology with great precision of the openings, which gives a wide variety of possibilities.

Mechanical processing – Facet

The facet creates a visual feel for a natural glass frame. It is shaped at a different angle to the thickness of the glass and can be a single, double or triple. Its width may be 5 to 30 mm. Facets give a new and elegant look to your mirrors and glass. You can frame not just right-angled, but also curved-shaped sections, and a double or triple facet creates an interesting effect.

Thermal treatment

We offer modern technology for tempered glass. Due to its smoothness, transparency and relative strength, glass is a preferred material with a variety of applications, but it is brittle and breaks into fine pieces, which requires its toughening for safety. Tempering the glass is done after all other machining and shaping of the desired size, drilling of holes, edging, etc. has been completed. In the tempering furnace, the glass is heated to 600 ° C and then quickly cooled. Then the glass is considered to be less risky because of its strength increases 6 times and if it breaks, it is into small, non-sharp pieces.

Our glass is processed with machines from reputable manufacturers such as BYSTRONIC, MACOTEC, GLASSROBOT, TORNATI FORNI and INTERMAC
